Public officials have stressed the importance of physical activity. Young bodies need to be used for more than just playing video games. There is no specific thing that any kid needs to do, but they must do something. There are many children who are overweight and the ranks of the overweight children is getting larger. To protect the children from feeling the effects of obesity in the future, the attitudes that they have towards exercising must be altered quickly.
There are many risks that are associated with kids being overweight. Being overweight can lead to increased illnesses in children. The fat kid in class is often made fun of, plus they may find themselves missing more school because they are not as healthy. Many of these issues can be reduced if kids are active, which does not mean that a kid has to do some six pack ab exercises every day, but it means that a kid needs to be outside playing something that will raise their heart rate some instead of sitting on a couch playing with some video games for a couple of hours a day. The issues caused by obesity can be lessened if our kids stop playing the video games and go out and ride a bike for just a little while every day. Schools used to stress physical education more, but now they are not always doing this. If we expect our kids to be physically fit, it is our job to provide the opportunities for them to do what is needed.

Unless the weather is really bad, there should be nothing stopping the adults from involving their kids in things that can be done outdoors. In addition to exercising, kids need to learn how to eat a nutritional diet. Parents should be aware of what types of food they are eating on a daily basis. They should limit themselves to three meals a day and one or two snacks a day. The meals should include foods from all of the major food groups and should have proper portion sizes. Our young’s meal plan should not include a kid’s meal toy with it every day.
Kids don’t need to diet to stay at a healthy weight, and they don’t need to learn how to lose weight fast, but they do need to learn that exercise and a proper diet is an important part of their life, just like taking a bath and brushing their teeth is important and it is something that must be a part of their life every day. By learning this at an early age, it will lead to good habits latter in their life. It is our responsibility as parents to teach our kids how to do this.
