Ways to Motivate Your Child for Internet Learning
Research has shown that children learn faster when they do it over the internet. It is the multi-media learning that is making the differences. The children’s sense of sight is satisfied with the visual dynamics of the computer age. Children who learn over the internet will get in touch with the world. It can get frustrating for them if they learn from books which are not only outdated but the images are also not that attractive, while the internet would have the latest images and the latest information. The following would be the simple ways to motivate a child to learn over the internet.
They need to search for the answers on their own. The children are naturally curious and they like to ask a lot of questions. It wasn’t long ago when parent would rush to the bookstore and find a book that could answer more than a thousand questions which they have no idea of how to answer in the first place. The worst thing that could happen would be if the parents do not know the answers to the questions. One good way to encourage the children would be saying something like: “Mommy is not really sure of the answer and it would be good to find out what the answer is in the internet” then direct the child to the internet and pull out the information. This will trigger more questions. This would be the right time to encourage them to find more answers on their own. Guide them at the beginning, eventually the children will learn and get independent.
Learning is more fun through the educational games. There are numerous educational online games that children could learn from without need for any downloading. The educational games are really fun but they are also very challenging even for the parents. As it is a multimedia, children get more engrossed in the learning process than they would if they were to learn the same thing through boring books or listening to their teacher lecture. There are actually a lot of schools now that use the internet as part of their curriculum to make it easier for the kids to learn as it is more fun and interesting.
The internet is also a great challenge to the child. There is fun in discovering new things over the internet no matter what the topic is . It could also be a competition of sorts. The one who gets more information from the internet would the one to win. This would only make the child strive to discover more on their own. This is very applicable to subject like science and astronomy. With the images and graphics to make things more interesting, the child will learn a lot faster too.
